Is Dry Fasting safe?

Dry fasting is safe because you dry fast every day between meals and drinks. We all dry fast more than we eat. Dry Fasting is at least five times better than water fasting for losing weight. You do not need to dry fast longer than a day or two. If you have any negative effects or become too tired, drink water or break the fasting entirely.

I was once 100lbs overweight and had tried both water fasting and exercise with no results. I am an experienced faster. This author has done a twenty-eight-day failed forty-day attempt, and a forty-day water fast. We know this was futile for weight loss now. Water fasting alone will only allow your body to shed 1500-2000 calories per day on average.

Water fasting is a “starvation” diet. We are tempted to think that is the highest-end diet possible. How can we lose more weight than when completely starving ourselves of food.

This article will teach you how to lose weight quickly and easily by as much as 1.5kg daily (3 pounds). Without exercise and without much hunger pain.

The 2016 Nobel prize discovery of Autophagy is why everyone is now “Intermittent fasting”.

Dry fasting has a lack of study due to old-wives-tales suggesting we would perish or die after three days of no water. I have personally gone four days without water and have friends who have dry fasted much longer. I see no reasons to extend water fasting beyond a day or two for weight loss, as we will need to rinse and repeat to lose a hundred pounds (or akin).

So… Disclaimer: Consult a doctor or dry fast at your own risk. As a former fat guy… I wish I’d read this article thirty years ago. It is also advisable to use commons sense and have a friend or family member supervise.

Like anything healthy… some will take it to extremes. Some have tried to dry fast for longer than a month, etc. If we are dry fasting to lose a lot of weight and my dry fasting routine loses me 15 pounds (6kg) per week or more. Then for me to lose 100 pounds I would need to rinse and repeat the process anyways… take a day every day or two to rehydrate. No biggy.

I lost over 100lbs (45kg). I was almost 300lbs (136kg). Now I’m less than 200lbs (91kg).

There exist many old wives tales that suggest if we go three days without water.. we will die. I have gone four days dry fast.. and I felt fine. I only stopped because I knew for the weight loss goals I wanted. I needed a safe rinse and repeat method.

This is my favorite schedule to lose 15lbs (6kg) in 5 days:


Day 1: Dry fastNo food or waterSalt, medicines, vitamins allowed daily

Day 3: Water fastWater onlySalt, medicines, vitamins allowed daily

I do this every six months. This is not “water weight” as some might imagine. Dry fasting forces our bodies to autophagize fat cells for the 7% water content.

In that 5 days. 5 day fast is fairly easy and dry fasting seems to have less hunger.

Now be sure to do the following exercise:

Watch a lot of tv in bed… gaming also allowed. My favorite two exercises (watching tv and gaming).

Let me explain it simply:

Dry fasting is far quicker than any other form of weight loss, and can be done very safely.

If you water/wet fast you will burn at most 1500-2000 daily calories without exercise. A pound is considered 3500 calories. The weight lost is less than one pound per day unless you ran a marathon.

But when we force our bodies to get water from fat cells.. its game over for them.

You may feel like you have chlorine in your eyes for the week as so much cleansing of toxins occurs with such great fat loss.

You have no need to believe me.

Dry fasting is pretty affordable to try. You just don’t eat or drink for a day, then drink for a day, then dont eat or drink for a day, rinse and repeat. I’m sure you understand.

Quite simple and safe.. and again.. this seems to have less ghrelins (hunger pangs) than water fasting.

Rinse and repeat. This is another safe and easy method to dry fast. I always suggest starting with the dry fast for two reasons.

Reason # 1: If you fail a dry fast, it often means we just drank water.
Reason # 2: Dry fasting seems to have less hunger than water fasting (opinion).

You will get hungry for first 3-4 days, until your body switches more fully into Ketosis. Ketosis will be full-on by day four. You won’t even need ketone sticks to test your ketone levels.. you’ll be in maximum purple.

If I wean from sugar and carbohydrates for one or two days prior to the dry fast I notice the hunger pains caused by the Ghrelin Hormone do not seem to come. I get hungrier between normal meals when eating than I do when dry fasting.

  • Light Ketosis: 0.2 mmol/L – 0.9 mmol/L
  • Nutritional Ketosis: 0.9 mmol/L – 3.0 mmol/L
  • Deep Ketosis: 3.1 mmol/L – 6.0 mmol/L

The reason you may not know how easy weight loss can be is that there is no profit in healthy people. I am not selling you a course or regimen. This is straight-up the quickest way to lose weight. Dry fasting is also heralded as healthy by many.

For the weight loss this newsnewbs article is claiming.. most dieticians would think you’d need to amputate a limb.

Technically.. if you are very overweight and did the above five-day fast once a week and you took weekends off to eat calorie neutral… You’d still lose 60lbs (27kg) in ONE (1) MONTH.

This is unheard of. So why is it unheard of?

Dry fasting is under-researched. Perhaps because of old wives tales.. perhaps because there is no money in such studies. Not many Doctors will back studies where people are denied water for days at a time due to both perceived and imagined dangers. This diet requires some common sense and should never be taken to extremes.

This author has lost over 100lbs (45kg). This author did a 28 day failed attempt and a 40 day water fast. This author has much experience with all kinds of fasting… and hands down.. DRY, DRY, DRY, DRY, DRY, DRY.. Did I mention dry?

Please fact-check and SHARE. You can find many ill-informed people who say Dry fasting is dangerous… but unless you have food or drink in your mouth as you read this.. you are dry fasting now.

Just go a day or two dry for every one-day water fasting.. no biggy.

Imagine 60lbs in one month.. while taking weekends off to eat calorie-neutral.

That’s a bit extreme… Maybe do once every two to six months.

and try to eat calorie-neutral.

Tell your kids to set a panic weight and we should do the same… maybe 20 lbs heavier than you or they are now.

Please help spread the word… This author has answered a zillion quora questions on dry fasting.. but the world is still largely obese.

Warning:  The suggestions here are to do dry fasting in short intervals like a day or two maximum… and even then if you have headaches (acidosis due to cleansing) or any distress.. stop.    Next time you start the toxins will be less and the headaches may not return.
